Huawei’s HarmonyOS has made new progress, with the most notable advancement being the adaptation of “Genshin Impact.” Tencent’s “War3” has already been adapted, and now MiHoYo’s “Genshin Impact” is beginning testing on the HarmonyOS, recruiting test players. According to an official announcement from MiHoYo, “In order to ensure a perfect compatibility with the HarmonyOS in future versions, this round of testing will be limited to players using the HarmonyOS.”
The testing period is set from 12:00 PM on June 27, 2025, to 2:00 PM on July 4, 2025. The Huawei smartphones participating in the testing include the Mate 70 series, Mate 60 series, Mate X6 series, Mate X5 series, Pura 70 series, Pocket 2, Nova 12 series, Mate 70 Pro Premium, Nova 13 series, Nova 14 series, and Pura 80 series. Tablet devices support the MatePad Pro 13.2-inch and MatePad Pro 13.2-inch Deluxe Edition. Notably, test eligibility is tied to the initial device used for login, and switching to another device may result in automatic ban. After the testing ends, the project team will reward players with a certain number of original stones based on their test feedback and task completion, and additional benefits may be distributed based on performance.
Although the testing scope for “Genshin Impact” on HarmonyOS is relatively small, it reflects that major Chinese game developers are beginning to develop native applications for the HarmonyOS. This is good news for Huawei users and the development of the HarmonyOS. With each update, eventually, full coverage will be achieved.
